Prometheus is a tool used to monitor and analyze time-series data that consists of numerical values. It collects, organizes, and stores metrics, identifiers, and timestamps. This open-source software obtains metrics from targets by "scraping" HTTP endpoints.

It gives you the ability to automatically identify processes, collect and store metrics locally and even more - visualize all metrics without any configuration (of course you can tweak it later on if you need).
